Citizens of Sierra Leone in 2021 were shocked by the move of the government in Freetown to strike a shocking deal with China for the sale of 100 hectares (250 acres) of beach and protected rainforest at the tune of $55m (£39m) to China .
The deal, which was evidenced by documents shared by Chinese officials and confirmed by the ministry of fisheries would give the China-backed fish-meal plant, massive unlimited access to a gold and black sands rich beach and the previously protected Western Area Peninsula national park rain forest which is home to various endangered species in West Africa.
According to a report by the Guardian, the waters which are about to be handed to China, are “rich in rich in sardines, barracuda and grouper, caught by local fishermen who produce 70% of the fish for the domestic market”.
In his bid to return for a second term, H.E Retired Brigadier General Mada Bio, the incumbent President of Sierra Leone have faced a tough opposition from his frontline contender DR. Samura Kamara as citizens of the West African State are en massively giving the opposition Candidate their support for a change of government.

But as we speak, a new census was conducted which nullified the initial data of the past census. The scamming thing about the newly conducted census is the data claimed that Kenema which is the stronghold of the SLPP is more populated than Freetown the capital city. Is like saying a smaller city in the country is populated than the capital city which is far from reality, he added.
The voters registration data hasn’t been displayed yet by ECSL they’re currently doctoring the data in their favor, he said.
The Sierra Leone’s presidential election is slated for 24th June, 2023.
