On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, Westwind Energy had the honour of participating in the distinguished King’s International Sustainability Reception at Buckingham Palace. The event, hosted by His Majesty the King, gathered leaders from across industry, government, academia, and non-profits to address some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.
Hannah Max-Macarthy, Managing Director of Westwind Energy, joined an impressive lineup of attendees, including Foreign Secretary David Lammy, Net Zero Secretary Ed Miliband, Environment Secretary Steve Reed, International Energy Agency Executive Director Fatih Birol, and Dame Ellen MacArthur DBE. This unique gathering provided a platform for critical discussions on topics such as climate action, renewable energy, plastic pollution reduction, and sustainable business practices.
The reception, held in anticipation of COP29 and the upcoming Plastic Pollution Treaty negotiations, emphasized collaboration and innovation in the fight against climate change. By fostering dialogue between influential leaders, the event sought to inspire solutions and initiatives aligned with global sustainability goals.
