The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Friday 27th May, 2022 met with the Management of the National Sports Authority (NSA) and presented a ‘special award’ to President Dr. Julius Maada Bio at the Brookfield’s Hotel in Freetown.

Presenting the award to the Executive Director of National Sports Authority (NSA), Dr. Kenneth Brima who received it on behalf of the President, ICC’s Development Manager for Africa Madam Patricia Kambarami stressed the love the President has for Cricket, citing the land allocated to the Sierra Leone Cricket Association (SLCA) at Sussex under the leadership of HE Bio.

“As a Council, we don’t have much but presenting this special award will go a long way in appreciating the President and the people of Sierra Leone for their love for Cricket“, Patricia said.
Key among issues discussed during the visit of the ICC officers were facility development for Cricket, introducing Cricket in schools in Sierra Leone and induction training for ICC Board Members in line with the federation’s requirements.
The two ICC Development Officers for Africa, Patricia Kambarami and Justine Ligyalingi are in Sierra Leone to meet with the (SLCA) and other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to discuss partinent issues relating to the development of the game in the country.
